Seoul, Korea

We now know what it must be like for Asian tourists visiting New Zealand. We are staying in a hotel in Incheon, which seems to be a suburb in Seoul. This is not like Hong Kong or Singapore where the locals are used to seeing Western business people. We do get a lot of stares, which is weird! In saying that, everyone is friendly. We don't know how to say hello in Korean which makes it a bit hard.

Stef is surprised that we have swollen feet and hands from the flight and humidity. We can't wait till our cankles and sausage fingers go down!

Dinner and breakfast came free with the hotel. Breakfast was cereal, eggs, toast etc, but dinner had a bit more variety. I stuck to the stuff I knew, but Stef was more adventurous, trying one of nearly everything! She doesn't recommend the cuttlefish!

Last night we explored the town and found an area full of clothes shops. This was Stef's dream shopping location because the shops were stocked full of bright coloured clothes and shoes! This morning we had a look through ChinaTown and a park. Very nice, but most places were closed because it is Sunday.

We are now just relaxing waiting for our bus to take us back to the airport. Our flight goes via Milan and will take us 15 hours to get to Rome. That is a long time to spend on one plane.

What a week!

The picture says it all really. We are finally all packed, everything is organized and we are ready to head to the airport first thing tomorrow morning. Our suitcases are by the front door. Our kitchen is clean. We have watched the final of Once Upon A Time.

Now that it has all become real, Stef is very nervous. She would like to know every detail about how we are getting to the airport and where we go to check in! Have we got the passports and the tickets? She has only just fully comprehended that we are going to the other side of the world!

Ohmygoodness it's EXCITING

All Packed and Ready to Go!

Yesterday we packed. With only 13 days and one full weekend left, before we know it, it will be time to go! With everything in our bags they weigh 13kgs and 13.5kgs. I am starting to worry that there is something we have missed because they are so light. At least we will have lots of room for souvenirs.

I am also struggling to think what we may need to take on the plane. So far I have comfy clothes (wearing), makeup and mini shampoo, soap and moisturiser, jet lag pills, ear plugs and travel pillows. Our travel bags are very light.

While we packed the warriors played and lost and the ABs nearly lost. Stef was not allowed to watch the rugby until she had packed. That's one way to get her to do something quick.

20 More Sleeps

Last weekend we popped down for a short visit with the whanau in Central Otago. It was chilly but we packed well. It was a great test for our packing cubes, which made it very easy to find our undies whilst hungover!

This weekend Heidi has been busy planning what we are doing while we are in Paris, sounds like we are in for a busy time! Heidi is an uber-planner and has mapped out what we are doing each day on Trip It, so now stef knows what we will be getting up to.

Only two weekends left now, so next weekend we are going to have to start packing ... The countdown will really be on then!

Oh and we booked tickets to the Harry Potter Studio Tour on 20 July, which means ... only 40 days until Harry Potter wonderland!!!
